Our Story

Our Story

Ayrshire Film Company began in 2014, founded by three graduates of UWS Ayr who believed Ayrshire’s stories deserved to be told well, by the people who live them.

Over the years, that belief has shaped who we are. We’re now a community interest company and a proud social enterprise. We combine high-quality video production for businesses and public bodies with screen and media training that opens doors for young people and communities across Ayrshire.

The two go hand in hand. When you commission us, you get a professional, creative production team. Your project also helps fund training, mentoring and real production experience for young people and disadvantaged groups who might otherwise never get near a camera or have the opportunity to tell their own story. Many of them work alongside us on live productions.

We’re led by a board of four directors from a range of professional backgrounds, including our founding director, Taylor McInroy.

We work with a small core team and a trusted network of freelance associates. Clients and partners include South Ayrshire Council, Barnardo’s and YouthLink Scotland, Morgan Sindall and Blackwood Plant Hire Ltd.

We’re a delivery partner for the BFI Film Academy and are the official video partner for the Social Enterprise Awards 2026.

Whether you need a corporate film, an event covered or a community project brought to life, working with us means gaining great content, high quality branded work AND the opportunity to create real local impact.

We create honest, impactful stories that unite Ayrshire through pride, partnership
and creativity.

Our Four Core Values

COMMUNICATION

Our fundamental output is storytelling. Presenting the facts and the feelings of a narrative clearly and concisely. Building an external and internal connection with partners and our team is paramount to our success.

Collaboration

To influence and inspire our young people we work with local businesses, educational bodies, industry pioneers and community leaders. This positions AFC at the forefront of media and training within Ayrshire.

Community

We’re building a legacy brand. Promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ayrshire through film. Reinforcing civic pride and positivity across Ayrshire as a whole.

Character

We have a strong sense of our identity, our reputation and media output is built on trust, honesty and integrity.
